Sports
Leader Awards
Mansfield
Wheels Activity Centre continues to seek value added products and services,
which will benefit our clients with their organisations aims and objectives. Our
instructors are also qualified tutors who can work with your students, who then
can gain nationally recognised qualifications.
We are quite unique in our
approach to coach education, for example;
One of the first to offer
accreditation solely through wheeled sports activities. Ability to utilized
current syllabus and criteria in a proactive and refreshing way to achieve
this. Offer young people
opportunities to use their interest in wheeled sports to achieve a recognised
qualifications, rather limiting
them to learning outcomes in traditional sports, which they may not be
interested in. Ability to work in partnership with the key organisation or
provide a comprehensive service.
Sport
Leaders awards we can offer:
The Day Certificate
The
Day Certificate has been designed to support children and younger adults in a
variety of different settings including community groups, primary and secondary
schools, uniformed organisations and sports clubs that are affiliated to the
local authority.
Research undertaken by Sports Leaders UK suggests that
many candidates who have already been engaged with the Day Certificate in Sports
Leadership now feel far more confident and assertive in their role as a Sports
Leader, and have embarked upon the Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership
in order to progress their skills.
Young
Leader Award
The
Young Leader Award is a programme of leadership training for young people
between the ages of nine and thirteen that promotes them working with younger
children, teaching leadership skills through a range of games and activities.
The Young Leader Award has been designed for use in a variety of different
delivery settings, including primary and secondary schools, uniformed
organisations and sports and community groups.
The
award responds to the individual needs of each organisation and teaches Young
Leaders through a flexible, differentiated programme. The award focuses on
specific skills such as giving instructions, the organisation of people and
equipment, and the use of space. Rather than breaking leadership down into its
constituent parts, the award teaches these topics through a practical, activity
based, holistic approach. In this way, the Young Leaders ‘learn by doing’ and,
by the end of the course, will not only have the confidence and ability to lead
others but will also have knowledge and experience of an extensive range of
games and activities.

qualification that enables successful candidates to independently lead small
groups of people in sport and recreational activities. The qualification teaches

For the delivery of the
